About the role
Freight Science is looking for a Software Integration Engineer to help us build innovative solutions and integrate them into our customer’s existing systems. You will use your skills in SQL, problem solving, and coding to understand customer systems, and connect them into the Freight Science platform. You will work with customers to understand their business and work with software engineering and data science to implement and/or request customizations and new features. This includes being able to investigate and resolve integration issues including runtime regressions, configuration changes, and functional gaps.
Responsibilities
- Under direction of Customer Integration Lead, works independently to onboard new customers to Freight Science platform
- Deep dive into database systems and willingness to explore and figure out all aspects of customer systems
- Partner with other data engineers and data scientists to help evolve the platform to empower the broader Freight Science platform
Location & commitments
- This is a full-time position headquartered in St. Louis, MO
- Some travel may be required for remote candidates for team events and meetings
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative field preferred (advanced degrees are a plus)
- No industry experience is necessary if the candidate has demonstrated experience in participating in opensource projects, meetups, active github account, etc.
- No fear attitude of exploring data systems and developing right sized solutions
- Solid software craftmanship skills including code reviews, software design and construction, iterative thinking, and problem decomposition
- Technical skills: SQL, database design, and proficiency in at least one programming language (python, java, go, etc.)
